Abstract (EN)
It has been known that the reproduced roles imposed by the society in Turkey, as in many other countries, direct and affect individuals. Gender is not only determined by society but also affects the body. This study aimed to inform and raise awareness about these issues with a one-semester gender/gender course curriculum given to second-year medical faculty students. It was planned to measure and evaluate the changes with the gender attitude scale at the end of the course. In addition, in-depth interviews were conducted with six students, accompanied by separately prepared questions, to reach more straightforward attitudes about their views on gender equality. The research determined that the structured gender education given in one semester caused a kind of knowledge accumulation in the participants and led to a change in their attitude toward the interactive discussions. It has been observed that gender education in medical faculties increases awareness and leads to behavioral changes. Beyond that, it was emphasized that the courses in this content should be disseminated to medical faculty and all students.
