Agricultural financing in Turkey and the location effects and importance of agricultural banking in banking and economy

In this research, the importance of agricultural banking has been examined. This aim has been discussed with the banks which are engaged in agricultural banking and with the related institutions specializing in this agricultural financing. Research results have shown that agricultural banking in Turkey is mostly in the hand of Ziraat Bank and state-backed funds can not be provided through private banks.This situation prevents the development of agricultural banking.The use of agricultural credit cards is very common but the use of this card does not allow farmers to finance their expenses well.The fact that the farmers are generally composed of aged individuals makes it impossible to achieve the intended and desired development in the mobile banking services.In this sense, it is thought that in the future,with their age falling, farmers will be used more actively in mobile banking, and access to agricultural finance will become even easier. Development of agricultural policy in Turkey is affected by the negativity because of the country's social, political and economic development.The inadequacy of agricultural policies and the deficiencies and inadequacies in the situation of farmers again affects the agricultural policies in the negative direction.The opening of microfinance institutions for agriculture, access to markets operations to agricultural credit cooperatives and the possibility of direct access to capital markets,support for the establishment of micro finance for agriculture, access to rural areas via PTT, the make people use credit andfinance the producers wellare the reasons to the support and develop new forms as cooperative banking. Agricultural financing should be considered as a value chain andandmustbe able to finance all agricultural process.
