Investigation of the relationship between childhood trauma, psychological endurance and stress coping modes in university students

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between university students' childhood traumas, psychological resilience and coping styles. Another aim of the study is to examine whether there is a significant difference between the sociodemographic characteristics of the students with their childhood traumas, psychological resilience and coping styles. The sample of the study consists of undergraduate students aged 18-30. This research is a relational survey, one of the general survey models. The data of this research were collected by applying the Personal Information Form 'prepared by the researcher', 'Childhood Trauma Scale', 'Psychological Resilience Scale for Adults' and 'Coping with Stress Scale' in order to determine the demographic characteristics of the students participating in the study. The data obtained from the research were analyzed with the SPSS program. One-Way t-Test was used to test whether the averages of two independent groups were different from each other. In the study, the relationships between variables were examined using Pearson Product Moment Correlation analysis. As a result of the study, the relationship between childhood trauma and its sub-dimensions, psychological resilience and coping styles in university students was found. In addition, a significant difference was found between the sociodemographic characteristics of the participants with childhood traumas and their sub-dimensions, psychological resilience and coping styles.
