Researching to university students' believes on mental illnesses

In this study, the relationship of believes on mental illnesses with socio-demographic datas are researched. Seven hudred and ninety students who study at many different departments of Istanbul Bilim University joined the study. Six hudred and forty three of them are female and one hundred and forty seven of them are male. To specify the socio-demographic features, "Sociodemographic Information Form" which is prepeared by the researcher is used and to specify the believes on mental illnesses "The Scale of Believes on Mental Illnesses" is used in the study. To analize the datas of the study, "Kolmogorov-Smirnov Normality Test" , "Independent Sample T Test" , "Independent Sample Simplex Varians Analize" (ISSVA) and "Turkey Test" , " Mann-Whitney U Test", "Kruskal-Wallis T Test", "Pearson Correlacion Test" are applicated. By the results of the statistical analizes which are made by the researcher, significant relationships are founded between age, education departments, place of birth, previous psychiatric story, previous psychiatric story from family, dangerousness, desperation, deterioration of relationships between individuals and shame, and this relationships are described by detailed tablos and explainings.
