In this doctoral thesis, convicts and detainees of drug crime/crimes in Bingöl M Type Closed and Open Prison are discussed sociologically and the socialization factors that are effective in committing crimes of these convicts and detainees are investigated. Hence, the effects of variables such as family, friendship, socio-economic status, professional status, religiosity, and mass media, which are thought to be effective in individuals committing drug crimes/offenses, were examined. In addition, the exclusion of drug offenders due to the crimes they committed after entering the prison, whether drug users receive treatment or their willingness to be treated, remorse, visits, and plans for their children were examined. In addition, it was also investigated whether drug offenders experience fear after being released from prison, what they will do if they feel fear and anxiety, and whether people have any plans for their families after completing their sentences. This research is based on field research supported by a face-to-face survey applied to 219 participants in prison for drug crimes in Bingöl M Type Closed and Open Prison and in-depth interview data with 30 participants.
