Assessing the role of structural risk on the acceptability of independent audit risk for the auditor

The number of parallel independent auditors and audit organizations to increase the scope of business conditions, which are subject to independent audit in today's Turkey has also shown a rapid increase. The fact that the independent auditor cannot reduce the audit risk to the targeted level due to errors and fraud in the financial statements of the audited entities arises from the fact that the audit risk cannot be provided at a reasonable level by correctly determining the structural risk factor and the risk levels of the control environments. Therefore, the auditor should decide in which situations the structural risk is unacceptable or even if the structural risk is too high, it should be interpreted that control tests can reduce the audit risk to the targeted level and some scale will be decided depending on the result that it reaches with new methods. In our study, the independent auditors, before the audit of the customer company and sector to know, the need to collect information and references about the company and the need to audit the previous auditor, if any information about the company's financial status and management by taking information about the reputation of the profession, this audit work will stain the reputation of the profession by examining which policies and procedures are used to analyze the structural risk and control risk before the audit, and in which situations the auditor decides to accept or reject the customer.
