Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out on 34 volunteer women aged 18-55 who were lightweight and obese, who applied to Dietiva Healthy Nutrition and Diet Center between January 1, 2021 and March 01, 2021. A questionnaire form was given to all individuals participating in the study in order to determine their descriptive characteristics, general health status and nutritional habits. In addition, the weight and height measurements of the individuals were taken, the Perceived Stress Inventory to determine their stress levels and the Beck Anxiety Inventory to determine their anxiety levels. The questionnaire form prepared was applied by making face-to-face interviews with the participants. 44.1% of the participants are in the 26 - 35 age range, 38.2% are in the 36 - 44 age range. While the average weight of the women participating in the study was 79.5 kg ± 8.7 kg, their height was determined as 160.6 cm ± 5.05 cm. BMI of all the participants are in the slightly obese and obese category. It was found that appetite increased when 50% of the participants were sad, 52% distressed and 47.1% tired. It was found that 67.6% of the participants did not change their appetite when they were happy and 61.8% were excited. According to the Beck Anxiety Scale data applied, 55.9% of the female individuals participating in the study had minimal anxiety, 14.7% mild anxiety, 14.7% moderate anxiety and 14.7% high anxiety. Perceived Stress Scale score was found to be 24.79 ± 6.31 on the perceived stress scale. There is a positive relationship between Beck Anxiety Scale and Perceived Stress Scale (p <0.05). There was no significant relationship between the stress and anxiety experienced by the individuals and the energy they consume daily. However, a negative significant relationship was found between the carbohydrate they consume daily and anxiety (p <0.05). Low-carbohydrate diet increases the stress level. According to these results, it was found that the stress levels of individuals on a slimming diet were at a moderate level. Keywords; Anxiety, Stress, Weight Loss Diet
