Research on the geometridae fauna and systematic in Adiyaman, Malatya, and Şanlıurfa provinces

This study was made to determine the Geometridae species distributed in Adıyaman, Malatya and Şanlıurfa provinces between 2015-2020. During the study 2688 Geometridae adult obtained from the research area by using Robinson light trap, curtain light trap and sweeping insect net methods. Collected adult samples were put in the killing jars with ethyl acetate. Obtained adult samples were brought to entomology laboratory from research areas and were stretched in there in accordance with the standard museum methods. After the stretching, the samples were deposited in insect cabinets of Gaziantep University, Biology Department, Entomology Laboratory to protect and diagnose. As a result of the identification processes, a total of 99 species of the 54 genera belonging to 4 subfamilies of Geometridae were determined. In addition, 68 species from Adıyaman, 58 from Malatya and 16 species from Şanlıurfa were recorded for the first time with this study. Morphological descriptions and adult size of each species were given. Also, adult and genitalic structures of male and female specimens were presented. Besides, host plants and zoogeographic distribution were listed according to literatures. The results of thisstudy contributed to the determination of the fauna and distribution of Geometridae in Turkey.
