Abstract (EN)

Political instability and military coups based on economic reasons are experienced in countries on the African continent. One of these countries is Sudan. There have been more than twelve coup attempts historically in Sudan, including the 1958, 1969, 1985, 1989, 2019 and 2021 coups. In the study, which focuses on the analysis of the coups and internal turmoil, it has been observed that the most important reasons for the military coups that spread in the African continent after independence in order to develop solutions to political crises are the relative strength of the military order and the weakness of the civilian order. In addition, the absence of order and stability in civil and political institutions creates the basis for coups. Military coups are based on ideological reasons. But the ethnic and tribal divisions of the African continent are too diverse to be tied to the ideology of a particular class. Therefore, the impacts lead to a temporary and/or short-term stability state. This situation results in the organization of ethnic groups and their search for rights. The study focuses on strengthening democratic institutions, preventing internal conflicts, and putting an end to administrative and financial corruption with constitutional arrangements in order to prevent military coups in Sudan, which is one of the African countries most exposed to military coup attempts. As a matter of fact, in order to protect the national security from internal and external threats, the scope and responsibilities of the armies should be determined with precise lines.
