Abstract (EN)
Introduction: Patient centeredness is a fundamental value not only for family physicians but also for many other physicians. The patient centered care has four main components: 1) Exploring both the disease and the illness experience 2) Understanding of the whole person 3) Finding common ground and 4) Improvement of patient-physicianrelationship. There are many international evidence on the positive effects / benefits of patient-centered care. Some scales have been developed to teach and examine patient centeredness. TheMeasurement Of PatientCenteredCare (MPCC) is one of themostcommonlyusedtool. This scale includes the first three components of the patient-centered approach. There is an efforttostrengthenandimprovetheprimarycareandfamilymedicineand teachingandimplementingpatientcenteredclinicalmethod is veryimportant. Fromthispoint of view, thisstudyaimstotranslate MPCC in Turkishandtoshowthereliabilityof thistool. MaterialsandMethods: Inthismethodologicalstudy, weaimedtoshowtheinterraterreliability of the MPCC measurementtool. Sixtypatientinterviewswereusedforthisstudyehichwerepreviouslyused in anotherstudy. The video recordings of theseinterviewswereindependentlyevaluatedbythetwoevaluatorswiththe MPCC tool. Statistical analyzeswereperformed on thethreesubheadings of thescaleandthecomponents of thesesubheadings. At the same time, correlation analyzes of the two evaluators were performed. Findings: Correlation between the scale scores of the evaluators in our study was investigated. When the 60 interviews were examined there is aintermediate correlation in general score (r=0,562; p=0,000), first component score (r=0,503; p=0,000) and second component score (r=0,5593; p=0,000). There was not a statistically significant correlation for the third component (r=0,244; p=0,060). When we examined the interviews of the female patient there was a strong correlation between the investigators for the general score (r=0,632; p=0,000), first score (r=0,694; p=0,000) and second score (r=0,708; p=0,000). There was not a statistically significant correlation for the third component (r=0,065; p=0,732). When we examined the interviews of the male patient there was a strong correlation between the investigators for the general score (r=0,499; p=0,005), first score (r=0,408; p=0,025) and second score (r=0,382; p=0,037). There was not a statistically significant correlation for the third component (r=0,295; p=0,114). ResultsandDiscussion: Theresultsweachieved in ourstudyarequestionableforthereliability of the MPCC.
