Abstract (EN)

The temporal significance is considered to be one of the most delicate and important issues that linguists have addressed in ancient and modern times. There is a close relationship between the time"tense" and the past, because time determines the intended meaning of the act, so it is necessary to be aware of the temporal signs that the past may go to. They are often three main indications: past, present and future. It is well known that the Holy Quran is full of verbs, whether past, present or command. Hence, this thesis examines the significance of the past tense in "Juzua Amma" , in accordance with the rules of the Arabic language and the opinions of linguists. I have divided this research into three chapters in addition to the introduction and conclusion. Chapter I: Studied where the definition of the verb in general, then defined the past verb, stated its signs, the significance of the verb, also mentioned the difference between terms of verb and action. Then defined the significance and types, and then explained the tense and its sections. At the end of the chapter, the transferring verbs and extra forms of past tense were mentioned. Chapter II: Examined the past acts that represent the past and present tense, and defined the past verb of the near and distant times, and cases that determine one of the two times. Then explained the absolute past and its situations, and stated the present times of the past verb with an explanation of the verses in which the verb is contained in both times. Chapter III: Studied the past acts that indicate the future time, and clarified all the cases that relate to this time. It has explained the past verbs of this time with the mention of the verses in which these verbs were mentioned. In the end the conclusion, the sources and references were written.
