Abstract (EN)

A descriptive study was carried out from 8 March to 10 August 2022 to determine the level of knowledge among the educated and uneducated people about coronavirus vaccine. Anon-probability ( purposive ) samples were gathered of 150 participants who were educated and uneducated from the following hospitals and health care centers at the Governorate of Babylon : Almusayab General Hospital, Almusayab Health Care Center and Alomarat Health Care Center. The result of our study indicated that the knowledge levels towards general information about the disease among the educated were high and the mean of general information about the disease shows (2.66). The majority level of knowledge among educated people about the Coronavirus Vaccine was high. Overall assessment level related to knowledge about the coronavirus among educated people was high. In the present study, the majority of knowledge levels among uneducated people towards general information about the Coronavirus and its vaccine was moderate. Concerning educational level, in this study the result of the comparison of mean scores knowledge towards the Coronavirus domains between educated and uneducated people reveals statistically significant differences between educated and uneducated people. Our study showed that there is no relationship between overall knowledge related to coronavirus among educated people and socio-demographic characteristics( Age, level of education). Also, our study showed no relationship between overall knowledge related to coronavirus among uneducated people and socio-demographic characteristics (Residency, Gender, Age, Marital status). However, there was a relationship between overall knowledge related to coronavirus among educated people and monthly income. At p-value 0.05. regarding gender, the study showed a significant association between gender, and knowledge level toward COVID-19. Our study showed a relationship between overall knowledge related coronavirus among uneducated people and monthly income. At a p-value 0.05, concerning the relationship between knowledge related to coronavirus among uneducated people and socio-demographic characteristics. Our study showed there is no relationship between overall knowledge related to coronavirus among uneducated people and socio-demographic characteristics ( Age, level of education). According finding conclude that associations were found between overall knowledge related coronavirus among uneducated people and gender at p-value 0.05. More ever based on the findings the study recommended preparing health education programs among the population to promote knowledge concerning coronavirus and its vaccine added to encouraging people to get vaccinated to reduce the epidemic, good and healthy nutrition that supports the immune system like beef, zinc, fruits rich in vitamin C, as well as exercising to keep people away from the epidemic, the necessity of maintaining respiratory hygiene (for example, should cover your nose and mouth with tissue or with your bent elbow when sneezing or coughing, then Throw away used tissues right away), avoid closed and poorly ventilated places unless necessary, and quarantine is necessary during contact with an infected person to reduce the spread of infection.
