Abstract (EN)

Balkans is one of the poorest and the most problematic areas in the southeastern Europe. The Balkan Peninsula is located between the Adriatic Sea and Ionian Sea on the west, the Mediterranean Sea on the south, the Black Sea and Aegean Sea on the east and Danube and Drava River on the north. Balkan States are Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, and Slovenia. As Turkey has some land in Balkans and as Romania, Croatia, Slovenia Hungary and Moldova have some historical connections, all of them are sometimes accepted as Balkan countries. There are five ethnic groups in Balkans. These are Albanians, Greeks, Bulgarians, Southern Slavs (Bosniaks, Macedonians, Serbians, Croations, Slovenians and Montenegrins) and Turks.Nationalism trend which arose in Europe at the last of the 18.century spreaded to Balkans in 19. Century and rebellion movements started against to Ottoman State. Following the rebellions, Greeks, Bulgarians, Russians and Serbians started to make torture and massacre to Muslims who lived in the Balkans. At the end of 20.century, following the collapse of Yugoslavia, Serbians made ethnic cleansing movements and they did the most bloody massacres which history recorded in Bosnia Herzegovina, in Srebrenica and in Kosovo. Serbian?s cruelty which was applied in Bosnia and Kosovo is connected with 1389 Kosovo War?s lose of Serbian?s and they throw up their secret hate inside at the 500th anniversary of Kosovo War to take back Kosovo and Bosnia Herzegovina for old Serbia dreams and it can be evaluated as last part of this dream. After 2 years even though Srebrenica was declared as a safety zone in 1993 by United Nations, it became the victim of the most outrageous genocide happened after World War II in the summer of 1995. Srebrenica was surrounded by Serbians on 6th July 1995 and city was bombarded during 5 days. On 11th of July, UN made permission to two F16 planes for flight over the city and one or two Serbian tanks was struck by UN. In a night Dutch soldiers left to unload city and they went to nearby Potocari Camp taking order of Bosnia UN Peace Force Commander French General Javier. The Serbs, under the command of Ratko Mladiç had entered the city on 11th of July in 1995. They massacred 8000 Muslims by shooting, burning and burying in 5 days. The main responsible for this slaughter is the Serbian commander General Obrenovic in addition to Karadzic and Mladic. Obrenovic and his men buried the corpses in mass graves to prevent the spread of the news of the Srebnica massacre but mass graves have emerged one by one following the war. According to data from the International Red Cross; 312,000 people died and 2 million Muslims were spread from their houses in Bosnia - Herzegovina between 1992- 1995. Roughly of these losses are 200.000 Bosnians, Bosnians are kept a systematic genocide before the eyes of the world. 800 mosques were destroyed, 35.000 children died, 80,000 women and girls have been raped in Bosnia. After pressure from America and NATO bombing, the war had ended. According to the Dayton Peace Aggrement, decided in the town of Dayton, Ohio, U.S. and signed between Tudjman, İzzetbegoviç and Miloseviç on 14 December 1995 in Paris, Bosnia was formed by Muslim Croat Federation and Serb Republic With the expression of Aliya Izzetbegoviç is the first president of the Repuclic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, this aggrement is not fairly but the best example of its kind. Peacekeeping forces deployed in the country has become Stability Forces since 1997 and there are still international military and police forces consisting of 31.000 people in the region. The Serbian?s unforgettable massacre would remain as symbol of shame in the history. Because of that, we must strengthen our unity and solidarity and go on to struggle. With those of Nazi persecution is still on the agenda, it is purity to wait for the criminals of this human drama to be judged as war criminals. As there is crusade mentality against Turks and Muslims, it will always be destined to see such events.Key Words: Balkans, Bosnia- Herzegovina, Bosniaks, Dayton, Rebellion, The Serbs, Genocide, Srebrenica, Mass Grave.
