Turkey is located in an active earthquake zone. Therefore, life and property losses are experienced as a result of earthquakes. Experience of these losses shows that more importance should be given to earthquake resistant structure design. Turkey Seismic Code (TSC 2018) came into force at January 1, 2019. In TSC 2018, the seismic performance of new buildings is considered as well as the seismic performance of existing buildings. Linear and nonlinear methods are used in the analysis of structural systems under earthquake loads. When calculating the linear behavior of the system, it is assumed that the material shows linear elastic behavior. It is also assumed that the displacements are very small. In the nonlinear methods, the behavior of the material beyond the linear elastic limit is taken into account. It is also considered that displacements are not very small. In this thesis, it is aimed to determine the seismic performance of reinforced concrete buildings designed according to TSC 2018. Equivalent Seismic Load Method and Mode Superposition Method were used for the analysis of a 4-storey reinforced concrete building as a linear analysis method and effective relative story drift and the base shear obtained from the two methods were compared with each other. In the second part of the linear methods, 5-storey reinforced concrete buildings, one without console and three with different console lengths are analyzed by using Mode Superposition Method and effective relative story drift are compared. As a non-linear analysis method, the results of the 8-storey reinforced concrete buildings with ground floor height of 3.5 m and 4.5 m were analyzed by Nonlinear Static (Pushover) Analysis, and the base shear, pushover curves and plastic hinge orders were compared. Consequently, the structural system should be designed the principle of having columns stronger than beams.
