This thesis deals with the Commentaries about Al-Fatihah and the beginnings of AlBaqarah on the interpretation of Al-Baydawi by Sheikh Ismail Mufid bin Ali Al-Attar, known as Mufid Al-Roumi (d. 1217 AH): study and investigation. These commentaries by Sheikh Al-Mufid are among the most precious of what was written on the interpretation of Imam Al-Baydawi, as they are comments to extract the meanings of what constitutes for the reader to understand and comprehend. It is known the great scientific value of the interpretation of Imam Al-Baydawi, which is an extension of the interpretation of AlKashshaf, and most of the books of ancient and modern interpretations depend on it. In addition, the footnote (Hashiyah) contains many quotes and references to other books, many of which are still in manuscript form that have not been investigated. The researcher followed the historical descriptive approach when extrapolating the biographical of Sheikh Ismail Mufid Al-Attar, and the method of investigation and commentary in the investigated text when comparing the copies and proving their authenticity and proving the differences in the footnote (Hashiyah).The work was done on two written versions, and the sayings were returned to their sources and places, and what was mentioned in the text of the Qur'anic verses, hadiths of the Prophet and various quotes, and commentary on explanatory issues raised by the author with the aim of clarification. The study concluded the following results: The author did not commit himself to what al-Baydawi saw in some places in the footnote (Hashiyah), rather he had his own explanatory opinions, and also, during his responses and follow-ups to Imam Al-Baydawi, he compared him with other commentators. The sheikh excelled in refuting many of the weak explanatory opinions, as well as the originality of the sources and references adopted by Sheikh Al-Mufid in his footnote (Hashiyah)s, and he sometimes mentioned them explicitly or invoked their companions. In language, for example, he used to present issues and comment on them grammatically and rhetorically, and he relied on prominent imams such as Al-Fayrouz Abadi, Al-Zajaj, Sibawayh, and AlSakaki. Al-Kashshaf by Al-Zamakhshari, and in the hadith on the six books and others, and in the readings on Ibn Al-Jazari. In addition, the footnote (Hashiyah) conveyed great scientific material and included explanatory, grammatical, morphological, rhetorical, and deep analysis jokes, which makes it a great addition to the Islamic library.
