Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the relationships between mindfulness, emotion regulation skills and psychological well-being on adults. The sample of the study consists of 523 (319 female, 204 male) individuals between the ages of 24-60 who voluntarily participated in the research from different cities of Turkey. In this study, Personal Information Form, Mindful Attention Awareness Scale (MAAS), Emotion Regulation Skills Questionnaire (ERSQ), and Psychological Well-Being Scale (PWBS) were apply to the participants. In the analysis of the data obtained, independent samples t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used to examine whether psychological well-being differed according to demographic variables. Pearson correlation analysis was performed to determine the relationships between the variables. Hierarchical regression analysis method was applied to determine the variables predicting psychological well-being. Psychological well-being differs according to income status, where they spend most of their life, marital status of parents; it was concluded that there was no difference according to the variables of gender, marital status, education level, working status, family structure and educational level of parents. The correlation results of the study revealed that psychological well-being has a positive relationship with mindfulness and emotion regulation skills. As a result of the hierarchical regression analysis; mindfulness and the sub-dimensions of awareness/attention, tolerance, preparation for confrontation and change from emotion regulation skills were found to be significant predictors of psychological well-being. The findings of the study were discussed in the context of the relevant literature and the results and recommendations were presented.
