Özet (EN)

The aim of the study is to determine the ego states and transaction types that are mainly used in teacher-student communication during instrument training in terms of Transactional Analysis in Anatolian High School of Fine Arts. In addition, this study was carried out in order to determine the relation between some demographic features and factors that can affect the process of instrument playing with ego states. The participants of the study were the instrument teachers working in one Anatolian High School of Fine Arts from Black Sea Region and all the students having an instrument course. Personal Information Forms and Ego States Scales were applied to the teachers and students in order to collect the research data. SPSS 11.5 was used in analyzing the data. Descriptive statistics of the data was performed first. The data were processed using the parametric tests ?variation analysis (ANOVA)?, ?t-test?, ?Pearson?s Correlation? and ?Spearman Correlation?; and the non-parametric tests ?Kruskall-Wallis? and ?Mann Whitney U?.The results indicated that from the teachers? and students? point of view, teachers mainly use ?Protective Parent? and ?Adult? ego state. Students, on the other hand, think that they mainly use ?Protective Parent? ego state and teachers think that students use ?Adapted Child? ego state. The two groups generally use the lowest ?Nuturing Parent? ego state. On examining the relation between some socio-demographic features, variables related to instrument playing and ego states, significant difference was not seen in terms of variables searched. Ego states showed significant difference only in terms of the type of instrument chose and course success: it was seen that those who chose the instrument by suggestion of his/her teacher used ?Adapted Child? ego state and those whose instrument course marks are high used ?Adult? and ?Protective Parent? ego states most.
