Abstract (EN)
This study was planned to examine the variables that affect performance in people with COVID-19. Research data were collected by questionnaire method. The study included 31 people with a mean age of 27.19 years, who were diagnosed with COVID-19 in the chest diseases outpatient clinic between February 2022 and May 2022, and who agreed to participate in the study and met the inclusion criteria. At the first month (early) and the third month (late) after all people tested negative Pulmonary function test, International Physical Activity Questionnaire Short Form (IPAQ), 6-Minute Walk Test (6MWT), 30-Second Stand-Sit Test, Hand Grip Strength Measurement Test, Hand Grip Static Endurance Measurement Test, and Scales Evaluating Perceptions and Attitudes towards the COVID-19 Outbreak were used to assess pulmonary function, physical activity level, aerobic capacity, lower extremity muscular strength and endurance, hand grip strength, hand grip static endurance, perceptions and attitudes towards the COVID-19 outbreak. IBM SPSS Statistics 25 program was used for statistical analysis of the data. It was found that pulmonary function test values, body mass index and Hand Grip Strength Test measurement did not show a significant rise when the early and late evaluation results were compared. (p>0.05). Hand Grip Static Endurance Test measurement, number of 30 sec Stand-Sit Tests and 6 MWT distances showed a significant rise in the early and late periods(p=0,012 p=0,001), (p=0,001), (p=0,004). It was found that the sub-parameters of the scale assessing Perceptions and Attitudes towards the COVID-19 Outbreak did not show a significant rise in the scores and IPAQ total MET values in the early and late periods (p>0.05). While there was a positive and moderate significant relationship between the 6 MWT distance and the number of Get-Sit Tests in 30 Seconds in the early period (p=0.026), there was no significant relationship in the late period. A significant correlation was found between 6 MWT distance and Hand Grip Static Endurance Non Dominant Score in the late period (p=0.035). It was determined that the variables affecting the performance of people with COVID-19 changed in the 1st and 3rd months, and exercise performance was negatively affected. It was thought that these negative results were reflected in the performance tests in the early period. It was determined that there was an increase in the endurance, muscular strength and static endurance of the hand grip in the 3rd month of the people who had COVID-19, but the healthy people could not fully reach the norm values. As a result; It was accepted that the addition of exercise programs aimed at increasing the exercise endurance, muscular strength and endurance of the individual to the pulmonary rehabilitation planned for people with COVID-19 would be important for the early gain of health. Keywords: COVID-19; exercise performance; physical activity; perception and attitude.
