Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of Covid-19 infection and training on hemogram, biochemistry and pulmonary function test parameters in professional football players who had Covid-19. The population of the research consists of the people aged between 18-37 with similar nutritional habits, 2 days before each competition (MG-2), the Covid-19 PCR test carried out in organizations affiliated to the Ministry of Health and laboratories accredited by the Ministry of Health, and any medical treatment in this process. The study consists of 30 volunteer male football players who did not take the test and whose PCR test turned negative after quarantine. A training program including predetermined standard football techniques and tactics was applied to all football players in the study, 4 days a week for a total of 6 weeks. In the study, the hemogram, biochemistry and respiratory function test parameters of the football players were measured after they had Covid-19 and a 6-week training program was applied. According to the findings obtained in the study, it was determined that the hemogram parameters of the football players such as EOZ, HCT, HGB, PCT, RBC and WBC values increased, while the MONO value decreased. It was determined that there was a decrease in Glucose, Albumin, NA, Triglyceride values from biochemistry parameters, and an increase in AST, Ferritin, LDL, K values. In respiratory function test parameters, it was determined that there was a decrease in FVC, FEV1, FEV1/FVC and PEF values. As a result, since Covid-19 infection is an infection that especially affects the respiratory tract, it causes a decrease in the lung capacity of the athletes due to the decrease in lung compensation, there is an increase in the infective parameters of the hemogram examination similar to viral infections, and the increase in the biochemistry parameters due to the infection state, it can be said that there is a decrease in the parameters that are mainly involved in tissue nutrition, depending on consumption.
