The experience of distance education during the COVID-19 pandemic in Çankırı province: Attitudes of teachers and the barriers they faced

This study aims to explore the attitudes of teachers in the Çankırı province towards distance education and the challenges they encounter during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research sample consists of 98 administrators and 902 teachers. To collect data from the participants, the study utilized a "Demographic Information Form," an "Attitude Scale Towards Distance Education," and a "Barriers Encountered by Teachers in the Process of Distance Education Questionnaire." The investigation analyzes the impact of various factors on teachers' views of distance education, with gender and education level emerging as significant determinants. The findings reveal that female teachers exhibit a more positive attitude towards distance education, and teachers with associate degrees tend to approach distance education more favorably than those with master's degrees. However, age, professional seniority, personal computer ownership, internet connection at home, participation in distance education activities, and level of knowledge did not significantly influence attitudes. The study also examines the obstacles teachers face during distance education amidst the Covid19 pandemic and how these barriers differ at various levels, including teacher, school, curriculum, and student levels.
