Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the folk songs of the Arguvan region in the TRT repertoire in terms of cultural and structural aspects within the scope of values education. In this descriptive study, the cultural dimension of the folk songs of the Arguvan region was explained through the literature review, and the structural features of the folk songs of the Arguvan region and their situation in terms of values education were explained by analyzing the folk songs discussed within the scope of the research. In this regard, in the works examined, the characteristics of the long havas, whose region is Arguvan, in the TRT Turkish folk music repertoire, were determined in terms of structure, subject-theme and values education. The data obtained were evaluated in percentage-frequency using the SPSS program and interpreted by presenting them in tables and graphs. Uzun havas were examined in terms of dialect, maqam sequence, vocal range and theme. For the purpose of the research, the notes of the folk songs were taken from the archive records of the TRT music department broadcasts of the Malatya/Arguvan region. The folk songs were evaluated according to the repertoire number order and analyzed musically, and the general character of the folk songs of the Arguvan region was revealed. It has been seen that the folk songs in the Kırık Hava form are in the Uşşak and Hüseyni maqam series in terms of maqam scale, and when examined in terms of rhythm, they consist of simple, compound and mixed rhythms and that there are predominantly mixed rhythm folk song examples. It has been determined that the long havas are performed in the Arguvan dialect and that these folk songs are in the maqam sequences of Uşşak, Hüseyni, Hicaz and Muhayyer, and that there are examples in free rhythm. When Arguvan Folk Songs were examined in terms of subject-theme, it was seen that the folk songs were written on the themes of homesickness, love, longing, reproach, praise, despair, consolation, advice, loyalty, curse, wish, love for the country, advice and separation. In the examination of Arguvan Folk Songs in terms of values education, it was determined that they contain the values of love, respect, self-control, patience, justice and honesty, among the ten root values that are the determining factors. While it mainly includes the value of love, it has been observed that some root values are not processed. Based on this, it can be said that Arguvan Folk Songs, which are based on the value of love and then respect, consist of unifying elements that bring people together at a common point with the dimension of values education. It has also been determined that folk songs include values such as love, longing, longing, helplessness, commitment, loyalty, homesickness and separation, which are described as other values besides the ten root values. Key Words: Values Education, Arguvan, Arguvan Folk Songs
