Abstract (EN)
Diyarbakir; It is a historical city built on a basalt field on the banks of the Tigris river in the north of Mesopotamia. Although it is not known exactly when the city accumulated, the ruins belonging to the Hurrians were revealed in the excavations carried out in Diyarbakir Inner Castle Amida Höyük. It shows that it is based on B.C. 3 thousand. Diyarbakır's geographical location is located at the junction of many commercial and military roads. From past to present, it has been one of the important administrative, commercial, scientific and artistic centers and has hosted many civilizations. With this cultural accumulation, the states that dominate the city have built many original buildings. Located mostly in the Suriçi region; Diyarbakir, which has many monumental and civil architectural structures such as Mosques, Madrasahs, Churches, Inns, Turkish Baths, and residences, also has a stock of historical buildings besides Sur. Apart from structures such as public buildings, barracks and hospitals, there are also residences / mansions serving seasonal use outside the Wall. These are the Vineyard Mansions and the Summer Mansions, which are important with their space and location characteristics that change according to their use. Summer mansions on the banks of the Tigris river; They are structures with pools in an open layout and oriented according to the prevailing wind. Ferit Mansion, which is one of the many summer mansion structures that have survived to the present day, has been determined as a research subject within the scope of this thesis. Diyarbakir Ferit Mansion, which is one of the original cultural and architectural heritages of Diyarbakir, has been damaged day by day due to neglect, bad use and adverse environmental conditions. Ferit Mansion, which is privately owned and idle today, is in danger of extinction due to increasing destruction and vandalism. It is seen that there has not been a detailed scientific study and architectural documentation about Ferit Mansion, which is one of the important examples of Diyarbakir mansion tradition. The main purpose of this thesis is to document the mansion, which is partially destroyed, before it is destroyed, and to take conservation decisions. Within the scope of this thesis, Diyarbakır Ferit Mansion was documented with photography and measurements and survey drawings were prepared. Damages and protection problems that occurred in the building over time were determined and detailed analyzes were made. The restitution project was prepared as a result of old documents and photographs, existing traces and comparative study of the building. Architectural, social and environmental proposals have been developed in line with conservation principles and legal acceptances; It is aimed to provide a sustainable holistic protection for the building and its environment and to transfer it to future generations.
