Determination of the Effects of Different Potassium Application Doses on Yield and Quality Parameters of Wheat (Triticum Spp.) Under Diyarbakir Conditions

This research was carried out in the Dicle University, Faculty of Agriculture Field Crops application area for two years in 2021-22 and 2022-23 growing seasons. In the study the effects of different potassium doses (Control group, 6, 12 and 18 kg da-1) on 3 bread (Tekin, Dinç, Babil) and 3 durum wheat varieties (Meya-2, Güneyyıldızı, Eyyubi) were investigated. The experiment was carried out 3 times according to the Split Pots in Randomised Blocks experimental design. In the research, plant height, heading period, maturity time, spike weight, grain weight per spike, grain number per spike, spike length, grain yield, NDVI, SPAD, leaf area index, fresh gluten ratio, protein ratio and hectolitre weight characteristics were examined. Based on the two-year combined analysis results; the effects of potassium doses on hectolitre weight among the examined properties was found to be significant while the effect on other properties was found to be insignificant. Differences among varieties were found to be significant in terms of spike length, heading period, plant height, hectolitre weight and grain yield. The highest hectolitre weight ranged from 77.90 kg in the control group to 79.54 kg in the 18 kg da-1 potassium dose. Among the varieties, the lowest plant height was found in the Meya-2 variety with 78.70 cm and the highest in the Eyyubi variety with 86.37 cm. The heading period varied between 121.88 days (Meya-2) and Eyyubi (128.00 days). Grain weight per spike was determined as 1.66 in Dinç and 1.85 g in Tekin varieties. Spike height was determined as 7.25 cm in the Babil variety and 8.23 cm in Güneyyıldızı variety. Grain weight was found to be low in Meya-2 variety with 486.25 kg da-1 and hight in Tekin variety with 573.75 kg da-1.
