Diyârbekirli Niyâzî-Amid-i Sevdâ-Tahzîr (analysis-text)

In our study, it is aimed to examine Abdulhamîd Niyâzî Çıkıntaş's (Diyârbekirli Niyâzî) work Amid-i Sevdâ-Tahzîr and to present it to the benefit of the scientific world by translating it into the new text. The text, which is the subject of our thesis, has the characteristics of a epistle (risâle) in terms of form and content. As a matter of fact, in the Anatolian geography, starting from the years when the Ottoman civilization sprouted until the first years of the Republic, when it continued its influence, mostly dealing with a single issue; Concise works written on scientific, religious and literary subjects and which are small in volume are called epistle (risâle). An important part of the large catalogues, especially the richest parts of the manuscript libraries, is also reserved for epistles. This shows the importance that Ottoman authors gave to the type of epistles. In addition, this situation is an indicator of how much people need such works. Diyârbekirli Niyâzî, who lived between 1856-1934, is one of the important people who left their mark on Diyârbekir's social, cultural, political and literary life during and after their time. Our thesis, which examines the epistle named Amid-i Sevdâ-Tahzîr, in which the harms of alcohol are explained in general; consists of three main topics which are the life of the author, the analysis of the text and the transfer of the text to the new text. The work called Âmid-i Sevdâ-Tahzîr, which can appeal to all times in terms of the subject and the way it is handled, will find a place for itself in Turkish literature and culture, especially in Diyârbekir. Moreover, in our study, it is aimed to reveal the poetic and prose features of the work, to determine its place and importance in its own genre and to eliminate a deficiency in this field.
