Abstract (EN)
This research examines to evaluate the acute effects of different stretching methods applied to the jumping, agility, and speed performance of male basketball players. This research was designed using a scanning model. 16 basketball players, who played basketball for at least 5 years and still continue to play, with an average age of 17.69±1.08 years, participated in the study. Athletes were applied to the Running Method without sequential stretching, Static Stretching, Dynamic Stretching and Self-Myofascial Release (SMFR) on different days with 72 hours intervals, and then the determined jump, speed and agility tests were taken and their acute effects were examined. Data were transferred to the IBMM SPSS 25 program, and analyses were performed. The normality analysis of the variables was evaluated using the Shapiro-Wilk test, and it was determined that the data showed a normal distribution. Descriptive analysis was used for descriptive statistics, and one-way ANOVA analysis was preferred for comparison of differences. To determine the resulting difference, Bonferroni were preferred from post hoc analysis. In the Counter Movement Jump (CJM) and 20 meters speed tests, it was determined that the running and dynamic stretching methods were better than the performance scores obtained after the SMFR method was applied. No significant differences were found among the other methods. In the T-Test agility test, no significant differences were found between methods. As a result, an acute increase in performance can be achieved by optimally integrating SMFR and static stretching applications at the beginning and then using dynamic stretching applications during the warm-up phase to increase the performance characteristics of the players during the match or training.
