Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of different systems used in shaping root canals, which are factors related to treatment in preoperative painless, asymptomatic, devital, multi-rooted teeth, on postoperative pain and flare-up after canal treatment. One of the factors affecting the success of root canal treatment is the proper chemo- mechanical shaping. Rotary file systems developed with different technologies have been introduced to the market in order to enable clinicians to make root canal shaping more effective and faster. The aim of this in vitro study was; Reciproc, Reciproc Blue and Protaper Next rotary file systems using root canal treatment, to evaluate the postoperative pain of patients. In our prospective randomized clinical study, a total of 36 asymptomatic painless, devital lmandibular molar teeth aged 18-65 years were included. Our study was completed by a single physician in a standard protocol. According to the root canal forming methods; In the Ni-Ti rotary instrument systems, ProTaper Next (Tulsa Dentsply, Tulsa, OK, USA), Reciproc (VDW, Munich, Germany) and Reciproc Blue (VDW, Munich, Germany) were divided into three groups. After the completion of root canal treatments, postoperative pain at 6, 12, 24 and 72 hours and 7 days were evaluated using Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). In our study; It was found that the shaping method, which is one of the treatment variables, had no effect on the severity and incidence of postoperative pain and there was no statistically significant difference (p> 0.05). No flare-up was observed in any study group. The tooth type and sex of the patients were found to have no effect on pain and there was no statistically significant difference (p> 0.05). According to the results of our study, the use of different shaping methods in painless, asymptomatic, devital multi-rooted teeth was not an effective factor on the severity and incidence of postoperative pain.
