A folk sciences approach on studying chidrens's games in Gazianetep

Childhood is a period can be described as a lifetime between being a baby and teeneger. It is a well known reality that children games are very important for children?s physological, physical, mental and social behaviour as a whole.This study presents an investigation at Gaziantep city center covering 100 years of period with a folk sciences approach. Childhood and children games are searched and classified. An approach for Gaziantep Children Games is proposed.Overall 250 children games are presented with names, places of happening, instruments necessary, functions, terminology used and formulas, rules and timing of games . Finally an investigation is included for functions and purposes of games with examples of traditional toys all together.
