Abstract (EN)

The Arabic alphabet used in Islamic geography is especially respected for being the writing style of the Qur'an. In this geography where the painting is prohibited, the search for beauty and aesthetics is found in the writing. As time passed, especially in the Ottoman period, the art of calligraphy reached its peak point. Calligraphy is a member of plastic arts. While it includes elements such as rhythm, balance, harmony, space, and fullness required in all plastic arts, it also has a meticulous and disciplined structure. The art of calligraphy, which continues in the horizontal-vertical-diagonal plane, is able to respond to the non-figurative quests of modern art. In this study, the individual applications of calligraphy are integrated with the ceramic material. In the first part, the emergence of writing and writing types are mentioned. In the second part, the art of calligraphy is introduced and in the following part the relation of calligraphy with the ceramic is discussed and in the last section personal applications are presented.
