Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to determine the undesirable student behaviors with which teachers are confronted in Physical Education lessons in primary and secondary schools and the adopted approaches to cope with these behaviors with physical education teachers aspects and to confirm whether these views shows dissimilarity or not in gender, professional seniority and variants of education degree aspects that is officiated. In this research various methods were used to gather data because method variation works out. In the research Quantitative data were gathered with a view to state the teachers views by sending out a questionnaire to 129 physical education teachers officiating in primary and secondary schools in Afyon, in May, 2006. The findings obtained was given with percentage and frequency analysis. Qualitative data were gathered with a tape recorder by applying standardized open-ended interview method and analyzed by using words of description analysis method. Subsequently, qualitative data were digitized. As a result of examining the data obtained with qualitative and quantitative methods; ?Complaining?, ?Clamoring?, ?Speaking without permission? were determined as common and general undesirable student behaviors in the classroom in both of two data groups in primary and secondary schools. It is also stated that according to the gender variant of female and male teachers in primary and secondary schools, ?swearing at a friend? is the undesirable behavior that female teachers are ?quite often? confronted with at the highest rate; however, male teachers are ?quite often? confronted with ?lodging a complaint against a friend? as an undesirable behavior in the classroom. According to the interview results, the most often undesirable behavior that female teachers are confronted with is ?clamoring in the lesson?; however, ?participating in the lesson without sweat suit? is the most often undesirable behavior that male teachers are confronted with. The dispersion of the undesirable behaviors in the classroom that physical education teachers are confronted with differs according to professional seniority variant, in addition, it is stated that ?lodging a complaint against a friend to teacher? is ?the most often? undesirable behavior in the classroom for the members of three groups who are in between 1-3-years, 4-7-years, and 1- and above years seniority gap. ?Shouting at a friend? is the undesirable behavior that follows ?lodging a complaint against a friend to teacher?, that is the most often confronted in primary schools, at the highest rate. This data is supported by the data ?lodging a complaint against a friend? obtained in the interviews. The undesirable behaviors that are the most often confronted in secondary schools don?t overlap with the behaviors such as ?speaking without permission?, ?laughing and making friends laugh during the lesson?, ?participating in the lesson without sweat suit?; nevertheless, they are similar with ?joking with friends?. The reasons of the undesirable behaviors are stated as ?Watching T.V programs containing violence?, ?Being divorced of parents? and ?Irreconcilable differences, discord and quarrels of the parents?. Although this data doesn?t overlap entirely with the view ?Social and economical scale of parents? obtained as qualitative data, it can overlap because the reason is densely about parents. It is resulted that the approaches, which physical education teachers always adopted against the undesirable behaviors in physical education lesson, are curative and preventive.
