Özet (EN)

The aim was to evaluate the effect of video-based block flute education on 4th grade students' playing performances, introducing the instrument and the permanency of their knowledge about the instrument. The importance of this research depends on the usage of this video-based education material by students, music teachers and classroom teachers as a source of lesson. The study sample consisted of two 4th grade student classrooms from one of the Central Primary Schools in Ankara during 2014-2015 Academic Year. The whole group consisted of 72 students, with 34 students in the experimental group, and 38 students in the control group. Data were evaluated by SPSS 20.0, and Independent samples T-test was performed. It was found that the students who were supported with video-based education were more successful than the students who were educated traditionally. Additionally in relation to the permanency test, students supported with video-based education showed that their knowledge was permanent, they had fun during the lessons and their learning was reinforced.
