Abstract (EN)

One of the two important works of Imam Maturidi that has survived to the present day is the Ta'vîlâtu'l-Qur'an commentary. In this work of Imam Maturidi, which sets an example for prudence tafsir, he distinguishes between tafsir and interpretation, includes rational interpretations of the possible meanings of the verses, and interprets his comments with verses, hadiths, words of the Companions, etc. He created a rich work in terms of tafsir science. Imam Maturidi, in his Ta'vîlâtu'l-Qur'an commentary, makes explanations on theological issues related to the Maturidiyya creed of which he is the founder. By conveying various Islamic sects, some religions, beliefs and philosophical views, especially the Mu'tazila, he discusses many issues that are not covered in theological books in his tafsir. Therefore, Ta'vîlâtu'l-Qur'an, which is a book of tafsir, contains dense material in terms of reaching many theological views of Imam Maturidi, the great efforts to prove these views with narrative and rational evidence, and the rejection and criticism of oppositional views. Imam Maturidi, in his Ta'vîlâtu'l-Qur'an commentary, includes the views of different sects or imams belonging to different sects on the subject and tries to prove his own theological views by criticizing the comments and opinions made in the light of the mind-revelation line. Although Imam Maturidi is a jurist who is extremely devoted to Imam-i Azam Abu Hanifa and the Hanafi sect founded by Abu Hanifa in the field of jurisprudence, he is a firm defender and representative of the sect in the geography where he is well-versed in all the methods and furû' of the Hanafi sect. In this thesis, the method used by Imam Maturidi in the tafsir of Te'vîlâtu'l-Qur'an, in his criticisms and criticisms directed at his opponents in the fields of fiqh and kalam, based on the jurisprudence and theological thought system. Since the subject of the study is related to the disciplines of fiqh and kalam, besides tafsir, sources from the fields of tafsir, fiqh and kalam have been used. The study consists of three parts and in the first part, information will be given about Imam Maturidi's life, the religious and political situation in the geography where he lived, his scientific personality and his works. In the second part, the ijtihads made by Imam Maturidi based on the method of the Hanafi sect, to which he is a member, and the evidence and explanations for the proof of these ijtihads will be given. At the same time, his criticisms of various sects and the method he used in these criticisms will be emphasized. In the last part, Imam Maturidi's theological views in the interpretation of many verses and his rejections and criticisms against various sects and sects will be discussed. Keywords: Tevilat'ul Qur'an, Imam Maturidi, fiqh criticism, theological criticism, ijtihad
