Abstract (EN)

Unethical decisions taken in organizations, discriminatory approaches of management towards employees, insincere atmosphere of business, changes in business, weak organizational climate, reveals tendency to build hatred and concern of employee towards organization, and detracting, critics extremely towards organization and this called as cynicism. In this thesis study, ethics concept is tried to be examined as being initial of organizational cynicism and employee performance in business. In the study, upon examine the interaction between organizational cynicism, employee performance and unethical decisions in organization, a field survey has been carried out in textile sector of Istanbul in order to measure ethical perception of employees working in textile sector. Questionnaire, one of field survey methods, was conducted in this study. Literature was searched; best scales were determined and submitted in 7 point Likert scale to employee working in textile sector while preparing the questionnaire. Additionally, data obtained from questionnaire study were evaluated in "SPSS" program, and regression analysis, correlation analysis, factor analysis and comparative analysis were performed. With this study, it has been observed that the cynism belief and lack of ethical values in organisations considerably affect worker's performance. In other words, it has been determined that unethical decisions taken in business play a great role for employees in developing a cynical attitude towards business and their effects on business performance.
