Abstract (EN)

Papillary Thyroid Cancer (PTC) is the most common species of thyroid cancers. Although PTC's prognosis is usually good, the prognosis of radioactive iodine refractory (RAI-R) patients who cannot respond to radioactive iodine (RAI) treatment is quite bad. Molecular mechanisms have been emphasized in PTC pathogenesis in recent years. Pituitary Tumor Transforming Gene-1 (PTTG-1) is a proto-oncogene associated with thyroid cancers in some studies. A total of 53 people were included in our study, including 26 RAI-R PTC, 15 classic PTC, 12 multinodular goiter (MNG) control patient. In our study, it was found that PTTG-1 gene expression changes were not statistically significant than PTC in RAI-R PTC, but higher (1.99 vs 1.73, p = 0.751). This may contribute to the fact that RAI-R PTCs take less iodine and their response to RAI ablation therapy. In RAI-R PTC patients, there was no significant relationship between PTTG-1 gene expression level and TG, anti-TG, NLR, age, metastasis diameter, tumor splitting time, suvmax values and gender (p> 0.05). In order to better understand the role of PTTG-1 in PTC, further studies are required by using microscopic samples made in more patients and only to obtain tumor tissue by using a healthy control group instead of MNG in the future.
