Abstract (EN)
At the present day, the number of women aimed at building a carreer has increased significantly, they can rarely be seen in top positions of the business life. This issue has been explained by the term ?glass ceiling?. Glass ceiling obstacles can be described as some unexpected interferences which prevent women employees from reaching at top positions in the business life by ignoring their education degree, knowledge, skill and success. This kind of obstacles can not only originate from women employee herself but also from other men and women workers.Job satisfaction, described as pleasure degree of employees because of their jobs, has always been one of the most important issue in all kind of corporations. This investigation has been carried out because of an opinion that the concept of glass ceiling is the most important factor affecting job satisfaction of women employees.The studies carried out in some countries outside of Turkey has showed that the concept of glass ceiling is generally observed in medical corporations. As a result, because no study has been conducted in any medical corporation in Turkey so far, behaviors of the employees against women directors, perceptions of the women employees about glass ceiling and the effets of glass ceiling on job satisfaction have been evaluated in Faculty of Medicine in Afyon Kocatepe University.Key words.
