Abstract (EN)
These research was conducted to determine the relationship between social support and hopelessness levels in patients with liver transplantation. These descriptive study was conducted in Fırat University Hospital and İnönü University Turgut Ozal Medical Center Organ Transplatation Services between Jan 2020-June 2021. As a result of power analysis, the sample was determined as 162 patients. The research was conducted with 165 people. Data were collected using face to face interview with patients with liver transplantation. Data were collected via the personal information form, Multidimentional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) Beck Hopelessness Scale (BHS). Data analysis was made in computer environment by using SPPSS 22(Statistical Package Social Sciences version 22) Correlation analysis was used as significance test. The means are given with standard deviation, p<0.05 was acknowledged as significant. Hopelessness mean score of patients participating in the study was found to be 8.53 ±3.42 and this is an avarega hope score, their social support score averages were found to be 62,79±17, which is a social support score above the average.It has been determined that social-demographic characteristics of the individuals such as education level, place of residende and reason for transplant have an effect on level of hopelessness. Education level and reason for transplant have an effect on level of social support. In addition, a scientific negative relation between social support level and hopelessness was found.It was observed that the more their social support scores increases, the less their level of hopelessness decreases. As a conclusion, it was determined that the patients who had liver transplantation experienced moderate level of hopelessness and their support perception was above the average.Their level of hopelessness can be reduced by increasing social support that they receive. In order to increase perceived social support, integrated applications can be suggested to social support systems and nursery care.
