The risala of Kastalī as-Sab'a'l-Mu'allaka and the risala of Sinan Pasha's Ajwebatu Sinan Pasha 'ala Kastalī: Critical edition, translation and analysis

Sharh al-Mawaqif of Sayyid Sharif al-Jurjānī which is the commentary (sharh) of 'Adud al-Dīn al- Ījī's al-Mawakif, has an important place in the madrasah education of the Ottoman period. This work, which has the feature of being an extensive work that includes the issues about the period of mutaakhirin of Ahl al-Sunnah, has become the most prominent one among other commentaries (sharh) and annotations (hashiya) written about al-Ījī. After that period, many commentaries, annotations and taliqs were written on it, and additionally although they are few in number, it was subject to several objections. Kastalī's Risala al-Sab'u'l-Mu'allaqa is a short text containing objections to seven issues of the statements made by al-Jurjānī. The work, whose author is known from the three reply texts that were found to be written for this risala, is "Ajwebatu Sinan Pasha 'Ala Kastalī" by Sinan Pasha. This work has been written for introducing the two aforementioned risalas. It consists of an introduction and two chapters. In the introduction, Kastalī's life and his works have been examined. It is the first chapter in which introductions of the texts, verification (tahqiq) and the translations have been dealt. In the second chapter, analyses have been given place.
