Klinik olan ve olmayan örneklemde depresyonu etkileyen faktörler: Erken dönem uyumsuz şemalar ve sosyotropi otonomi kişilik özelliği

There have been several studies that question the role of early maladaptive schemas on developing several psychopathologies, such as depression. Apart from early maladaptive schemas, some personality factors such as sociotropy-autonomy on depression have been investigated. On the other hand, roles of both early maladaptive schemas and sociotropy-autonomy personality on depression have not been investigated into same study either depressed patients or non-clinical individuals. Although early maladaptive schemas might be associated with some personality factors, EMSs have not been examined yet in terms of sociotropy autonomy personality traits. Therefore, exploring the associations between variables on depression and also affects of early maladaptive schemas on the types of personality are aimed to explore in the present study. Participant were consisted from depressed patients recieving treatment (N =105) and non-clinical individuals being healthy (N = 110). Demographical Information Form, Beck Depression Inventory II, Young Schema Questionaire III, Sociotropy Autonomy Scale were used as a measures in this study. Correlation analysis, Independent samples t-tests, One-Way ANOVAs, Two-Way ANOVA, Multiple Hierarchical Regression Analyses and Simple Linear Regression were performed in this study. Depressed patients had unsatisfaction of social support, had sociotropy personality and stronger impaired autonomy schema domain and spesific schemas of dependence, vulnerability to harm, insufficient self-control, pessimism, and emotional inhibition had higher scores of depression. In addition, nonclinical individuals experienced stressful life events and had stronger disconnection and rejection schema domain, schemas of defectiveness, failure, self-sacrifice, pessimism, emotional inhibition, punitiveness had higher scores of depression. In terms of sociotropy, early maladaptive schemas domains of other directedness, and subdomains of abandonment, self sacrifice, approval seeking were related to sociotropy for depressed patients. In addition, schema domains of impaired autonomy and performance and other directedness, and subdomains of approval seeking and punitiveness were associated with higher scores on sociotropy in nonclinical individuals. As for autonomy, schema domains of impaired limits, overvigilance and inhibition, and also subdomains of insufficient self-control, self sacrifice and punitiveness were associated with autonomy in the sample of depressed patients. Besides, weaker impaired autonomy and performance, and stronger schema domains scores on impaired limits, overvigilance and inhibition, and subdomains of social isolation, insufficient self-control, pessimism and punitiveness were related to autonomy in the sample of nonclinical individuals. All findings are consistent with earlier research on EMSs except emotional inhibition for both samples and schemas of pessimism and punitiveness for non-clinical individuals. Moreover, since which schemas are related to sociotropy and autonomy has been conducted first for literature, findings were exploratory for literature.
