Abstract (EN)

Objective: Oxidative stress, apoptosis and inflammation play an important role in the interfertility caused by stress in organism. Stress is an automatic reaction that the body gives to various internal and exterior stimuli. It is known that the stress of WAS model causes oxidative damage on the testis. Fulvic acid is a non-toxic agent that has antioxidant, antiapoptotic and anti-inflammatory properties. The purpose of this study is reversing the testicular damage occurred by WAS with the fulvic acid. Material and Method: 18 Sprague-Dawley male rats were used. Experimental groups: C, WAS and WAS+FA. The histological sections obtained from the testes has been stained with the Hematoxylon&Eosin and Toluidine blue. ZO-1, β-actin and iNOS immünohistochemistry labelling has been made. TAS/TOS, OSI, CAT, GPx and SOD levels has been evaluated biochemically. Findings: It was observed that there was irregularity in the basement membrane and dilation in the germinal epithelium in WAS group in comparison with the C. Healing was observed in the basement membrane while the damage in the WAS+FA group was proceeding. While it was observed that there was a decrease in the dilation between the germinal epithelium, biochemical findings supported histological findings. Conclusion: It was concluded that the fulvic acid that was used had a therapeutic effect however more studies in which it is used in high dose for it's antioxidant effect to emerge are required. Keywords: Antioxidant, Infertility, Fulvic Acid, Water Avoidance Stress, Oxidative Stress
