A research devoted to the determination of critical success factors and user satisfaction in the enterprise resource planning

Companies are trying to cut the costs, produce high quality products and service and increase their market share by increasing their product range in order to survive in the fast developing technology, competition conditions and the global economical environment. One of the management information systems, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), occurred parallel with the technological developments, provides important advantages to the firms.On one hand, ERP is considered as the information system developed for evaluation of the future studies of firms; on the other hand, it can be described as the software system that integrates all the work processes.Successful ERP applications provide firms with low cost, better customer services and production calendar. However, while the system that helps firms to restructure all the work processes provides decrease in firm costs, the problems during the integration can sometimes cause loss of time and money. The failures in ERP applications cause loss of the money allocated for ERP and loss in most of the work. A reliable, realistic and logical ERP project should be carried out in order to maintain a successful application. All the processes, from choosing ERP systems to final user training, should be meticulously dealt with.In this study, it was aimed to analyze the critical success factors, employees? ERP usage satisfaction, ERP service provider set up satisfaction, ERP service provider support satisfaction, workers? satisfaction with firm, the controllability features of ERP system and ERP cost satisfaction in the two automotive firms using ERP in Turkey.Key Words: ERP, Satisfaction, Management Information System, Critical Success Factors, Factor Analysis, Principle Components.
