The legitimization attempts towards PKK inits own documents

After a period of planning and preparation for the purposes of attacks and massacres, PKK -Kurdish Labor Party-whose establishment was declared with a meeting held in Fis village of Diyarbakır/Lice on the 27th of November,1978, has undertook armed attacks on a regular basis since 1984. It has terrorized last forty years and yielded Turkey to spend a significant proportion of its energy to the fight against terrorism. Turkey has primarily preferred the option of armed struggle against PKK terror from the very beginning of the first terrorist attacks and Turkish Armed Forces took place at the forefront in this struggle. In this process, armed struggle occurred mainly and it was failed to achieve a complete success against the PKK terror. The present study is aimed to reveal the goals of PKK and the arguments it uses to justify it's actions. This data-based study is done with the foresight of providing significant information to the security forces taking active part inthe fight against PKK and has a mission of analyzing the problem objectively in different dimensions. The research data obtained via document analysis technique of qualitative research methods and validity and reliability analysis of the data is provided by peer review, external audit and multi-encoder processes. According to the findings and results of the study, in order to legitimize PKK, organization administrators create the perception of struggle against Turkish Republic in the eyes of Kurdish people by asserting that Turkey is pursuing a variety of hostile policies especially alleged denial and destruction policies towards Kurdish people.
