The purpose of this study is to examine the relationships between the five-factor personality traits, positive-negative emotion and life satisfaction levels of high school students. Within the scope of the study, whether personality traits, positive-negative emotion and life satisfaction score averages differ according to some sociodemographic variables and the power of personality traits to predict positive-negative emotion and life satisfaction. The sampling of the research consists of a total of 588 students studying in 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades in six different high schools in the Biga district center of Çanakkale. 331 of these students are female and 255 are male. Today sampling method, one of the non-random sampling methods, was used to determine the sample. In the research, "Five Factor Personality Scale", "Positive-Negative Emotion Scale", "Life Satisfaction Scale" and "Personal Information Form" were used as data collection tools. The data were analyzed using the SPSS 21 program. He used the techniques of "T-Test", "One-Way Variance Analysis (ANOVA)", "Pearson Moments Correlation Analysis" and "Progressive Multiple Regression Analysis". According to the results of the study, significant differences were found in terms of extroversion, responsibility and neuroticism personality traits, positive-negative emotion and life satisfaction scores by gender. It was revealed that there is a significant difference in extraversion and negative emotion subscale scores according to the mean scores of age and grade level. It was observed that the mean scores of the extroversion, responsibility and negative emotion subscale differed significantly according to the income level of the family. In terms of the togetherness of the parents, it was determined that only the positive emotion subscale mean scores differed. There was no difference in all personality traits, positive-negative emotions, and life satisfaction scores, depending on whether the parents were alive or not. As a result of the research, extraversion, compatibility and responsibility; positive emotion and life satisfaction are positively associated with negative emotion. Neuroticism; It is negatively related to positive emotion and life satisfaction, positively related to negative emotion. Openness to development is only positively associated with positive emotion. There was no relationship between openness to development and negative emotion and life satisfaction. It was observed that positive emotion and life satisfaction were positively related, and negative emotion and life satisfaction were negatively related. It was observed that responsibility, openness to development, extraversion and neuroticism predicted positive emotion and these four variables together explained 21.4% of positive emotion. It was observed that neuroticism, extraversion and compatibility personality traits predicted negative emotion and these three variables together explained 24.7% of negative emotion. It has been observed that the predictors of life satisfaction are personality traits of responsibility, extraversion, neuroticism and compatibility. It is concluded that these four variables are explained 13% of the life satisfaction together. All the findings obtained were discussed by examining the relevant literature.
