Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the mediating role of organizational commitment and job satisfaction in the effect of internal and external motivation on organizational citizenship behaviors. The health sector constitutes the context of the study, and in this context, 12 hospitals operating in 6 provinces in Turkey were determined. Health personnel consisting of nurses, medical imaging, laboratory workers and patient caregivers in health institutions consisting of state and university hospitals were selected for the study. 1237 health professionals participated in the research via answering the questionnaire. In order to test the proposed hypotheses in the study, various statistical tests were applied including; descriptive statistics, validity and reliability tests, student's T tests, Analysis of variance test (Anova), and Pearson correlation tests. In addition, structural equation modeling was used to test the research model. Data were analysed using SPSS and AMOS statistical package programs. According to the findings, there is a positive and significant relationship between motivation, job satisfaction, organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB), and intrinsic motivation has a significant effect on altruism, conscientiousness, kindness, civic virtue and sportsmanship sub-dimensions of OCB. It has been revealed that extrinsic motivation has a significant effect on other sub-dimensions of OCB, except for the sub-dimension of kindness. In this context, the mediating roles of organizational commitment and job satisfaction between intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation and OCB differed when the motivation and organizational citizenship behavior sub-dimensions were taken into account. According to this; It has been seen that intrinsic and extrinsic motivation is an important factor for organizational citizenship behaviors, while organizational commitment and job satisfaction mediate this relationship at various levels.
