Nasiriyah şehrindeki al-hussain eğitim hastanesinde hemşirelerin covıd-19 enfeksiyonunu önlemeye yönelik bilgilerinin değerlendirilmesi

Purpose of study: 1. To Identify the demographics charcterestics of Nurses. 2. To assess the nurses' knowledge toward prevent ınfection with the COVID-19. Method: Descriptive cross-sectional analysis was used to assess and evaluate the approach with questionnaire items, for the period of "2nd January 2022 to 1st July 2022". The study was conducted at Al-Hussein Teaching Hospital, Nasiriyah City/ Iraq. A convenient non-probability sample of 200 nurses is selected from various areas within a hospital. The questionnaire has been used as a method for collecting data and used a self-administrated approach for knowledge. Data were analyzed through using the program of the SPSS, Version 20. Result: The socio-demographic characteristics of the present study have shown that the age of the study sample is about 75% between 20 - 29 years old. A high percentage of the study sample has a nursing diploma 56%. Half of the nurses 51.5 % have 1-5 years of experience in nursing work. Half of the nurses 51 % were untrained about COVID-19. The majority of nurses who have participated in the present study are female that consisting 63%. About 57 % of nurses have confirmed infection with the COVID-19 virus. 58 % of them have the available vaccines to prevent infection with COVID-19. 46.07 % of them have a piece of good information about infection prevention. 38.85 % of them have moderate information about infection prevention. 11.10 % of them have bad information about infection prevention towards COVID-19. Conclusion: We found that the nurses working at Al-Hussein Teaching Hospital and participating in our study had good knowledge about the prevention of COVID-19, and this is only in terms of their work and preserving their lives and the lives of their patients. 2022, 79 pages Keywords: nurses, knowledge, covid-19, preventation , vaccination.
