Abstract (EN)

The common feature of the new attempts to understand the Islamic as a result of the transformation in the contemporary period is the idea that the Islamic sciences that began to institutionalize since the age of the companions and the internal systematics of these sciences were problematic. Tafsir was the most influenced branch of this transformation due to the discourse that the divine address was not understood as it should be and that the Qur'an should be centered. In this thesis, the origins and arguments of the critics of the contemporary thinker Nasr Hâmid Abu Zayd who determined the necessity of understanding the Qur'an correctly as the application of the literary method were examined. The views of the traditional scholars, who were the respondents of the criticism, were taken in the descriptive manner in the first chapter by taking Zerkesî landmark and it was pointed out that the Qur'an scholars in the classical period compiled the information that would help the interpretation. In the second part, the search for methods in the contemporary period was examined under two headings as "traditional orientation" and "contemporary orientation". The ideas of Abu Zayd, who is the representative of the contemporary orientation and made a holistic critique of the Qur'an for the first time, were discussed by referring to his views and suggestions in Mefhûmü'n-nas: Dirâse fî ʿulûmi'l-Qur'an.
