Özet (EN)

Historical artifacts deterirate for a variety of reasons, and sometimes they may not be able to adapt to the comfort conditions required by the age. Various restoration and conservation approaches have been developed to keep these artifacts alive throughout history. Reuse and rehabilitation is one of these approaches. Historical buildings that were rehabilitated sometimes re-used with new functions sometimes retain their former function. The Ankara Şengül bath, which is the subject of our thesis, is also an Ottoman building and could not adapt to today's comfort conditions and before restoration. It has been ensured with the restoration and repairs since the 15th century. At the same time, that it has been harmonized with the comfort conditions required by its building group with various rehabilitations. My thesis work consists of revealing the use value of the building and its evaluation post-adapdation in Ankara Şengül Hamam, which was re-used as a bathhouse with some rehabilitations. These post-adaptation assessment have been handled culturally, socially, environmentally, architecturally and economically. Ankara Şengül Hamam is important for maintaining Ottoman culture, except that a historical building can be sustained.
