Abstract (EN)
This thesis will cover one of the most important moments in the history of the Republic of Peru. The transformation of Shining Path's (PCP-SL) armed struggle into terrorism in the early 1980s revealed the Peruvian State's inability to face a new domestic threat that sought to seize power through violence, leading to the formulation of a new drastic measure to put an end to this situation. Our research will analyze the successful visions and policies implemented against the actions of the Shining Path (PCP-SL) terrorist organization, such as the formation of the Peruvian Special Intelligence Group (GEIN); therefore, this study will analyze the states policies from the beginning of this group's armed struggle to the period when this organization disintegrated by the GEIN.
