Abstract (EN)
Polyhexamethylene biguanide hydrochloride (PHMB) is a chemical biocide, a polymer used in a wide variety of antimicrobial applications. The activity state, which occurs in all organisms with cellular characteristics, constitutes the most basic biguanide group that adheres to a flexible spacer extension with a hexamethylene phenomenon. PHMB is a disinfectant with a wide spectrum that causes cell death by disrupting the integrity of the cell membrane. It is actively used in many fields. Polyhexanide/polyhexamethylene biguanide is one of the most widely used wound antiseptics with its high tissue compatibility and low cytotoxicity. In this study, bacterial strains used in bacterial-centered studies for our clinic were obtained from the culture grown in the laboratory. In order to make it easy to name the bacterial species used in these working processes in the working processes, markings were made as Human Pathogen Bacteria (HPB). No complications were encountered during the treatment process in all clinical cases. Clinical studies of polyhexanide/polyhexamethylene biguanide are promising. In this study, positive response was received in a short time. However, more experimental controlled clinical and laboratory studies are needed to improve the applications of 0.1% PHMB in chronic treatments. This thesis presents a much more extensive literature on PHMB properties than methods of synthesis, mode of action, antimicrobial effects, and safety for humans as well as for the environment.
