Preeclampsia that occur in pregnancy, not only in developing countries is an important health problem even in developed countries. Maternal and fetal mortality and morbidity, although one of the most important reasons,why there is no definite information about the etiology and prediction about. Our objective criteria for the metabolic syndrome and to investigate the relationship between IGF-1 and preeclampsia, to determine whether they are effective in severe preeclampsia.This study were included between 1 December 2010 to 31 May 2011 Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic of DUTF of 12 mild preeclampsia, 36 severe preeclampsia, 30 healthy pregnant women. In this study there was no significant difference in terms of the pregnant women included age,gravis, of parity and body mass index. Hematocrit values in patients with hematologic value very significantly higher in severe preeclampsia, found no significant difference in platelet and leukocyte values.Biochemical values of AST, ALT, LDH, and urea values are higher in patients with severe preeclampsia, mild and severe preeclampsia group were significantly higher.Albumin values were significantly lower in group mild preeklaampsi. Creatinine, and fasting blood glucose were not significantly different between the groups. Infant weight and length, severe preeclampsia found to be significantly low compared to mild preeclampsia and the control group showed no significant difference between.VLDL is very significantly higher in severe pre-eclampsia group and LDL, HDL, triglycerides, total cholesterol, insulin, c-peptide, insulin resistance and IGF-1 did not differ significantly between the groups in terms of. (P> 0.05).The result is the same as the body mass index and blood pressure in preeclamptic women compared to healthy pregnant women was higher levels of VLDL,but LDL, HDL, triglycerides, total cholesterol, fasting glucose, insulin, c-peptide, insulin resistance and IGF-1 levels were not significantly different between.ın this study,the development of preeclampsia metabolic syndrome and that it was concluded that the contribution of IGF-1 alone.Keywords: preeclampsia, metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance, IGF-1
