Abstract (EN)
For centuries, one of the greatest activities that has attracted the attention of mankind has been 'flying'. The desire to fly sometimes embellished people's dreams, and sometimes made plans to realize the act of flying. In the end, mankind has succeeded in transforming the desire to fly into action by making many different tools. Thanks to the actions of flying, especially in the last century, air travel between cities and countries has been carried to a very advanced level, and information about planets and space has been reached thanks to the actions of flying in the field of space research. In the future, the desire for individual transportation by air will bring along new flight actions. Looking at the historical process, one of the Muslim scholars Abbas Ibn Firnas did flight studies, Hezarfen Ahmet Çelebi wore his own designed wings on his arms and flew from Galata Tower to Üsküdar for a while with a rocket designed by Lagari Hasan Çelebi himself. It was seen that he was able to stay in the air. At the beginning of the 20th century, Vecihi Hürkuş, Emrullah Ali Yıldız, Nuri Demirağ and Baykar Bayraktar contributed to significant developments in aircraft and air transportation. The idea of flying has been turned into action by many people in the countries of the world. Renaissance period artist Leonardo Da Vinci made designs on flying based on the flight patterns and wings of birds, Otto Lilienthal was involved in flight studies, and at the beginning of the 20th century, the Wright Brothers produced the first powered airplane and succeeded in flying. As the desire to fly began to return to action with scientific developments, it started to be the subject of art works by artists. Leonardo Da Vinci's drawings on flight were the first noteworthy artistic drawings, and during the production of powered airplanes and especially the use of warplanes in World War I and World War II, airplane figures began to appear on canvases by painters. As passenger transportation started to take place in the lives of the majority of the society, aircraft became the focus of attention among the society. Artists were naturally affected by these developments. In the art of painting, the idea of flying and the figures of the plane took place quite a lot. Today, it has been felt necessary to gather together the works of flying and the figure of an airplane in the art of painting, and this thesis study on the subject has been revealed. In this context, studies on the subject were researched and brought together and interpreted within the scope of the study.
