Abstract (EN)
İn this study, it was aimed to determine the antioxidant and liver protective effects of Allium schoenoprasum L. plant extract at different doses (100, 200, 400 mg / kg) in a rat liver injury model of carbontetrachloride (CCL4). The study material was formed using 70 female rats. I. group (Control), II. group Carboxymethylcellulose, III. group CCL4, IV. group CCL4 + Legalon 50 mg / kg), V. group A. schoenoprasum 100 mg / kg, VI. group A. schoenoprasum 200 mg / kg, VII. group A. schoenoprasum 400 mg / kg, VIII. group CCL4 + A. schoenoprasum 100 mg / kg, IX. group CCL4 + A. schoenoprasum 200 mg / kg, X. group CCL4 + A. schoenoprasum 400 mg / kg]. Different doses of Legalon and A. schoenoprasum were administered by intragastric route; CCL4 1 ml / kg i.p. was mixed with olive oil in a 1:1 ratio and 10 days in a single dose. On day 11 rats were sacrificed and blood and tissue samples were collected. According to the results obtained, histopathologically, it was seen that in CCL4-induced liver damage, Legalon and A. schoenoprasum extract decreased the damage in liver tissue compared to toxic group. In addition, the liver enzyme (ALT, AST, ALP, ALB, LDH, TP) and lipid (TC, TG, LDL, HDL, VLDL) parameters were similar to histopathological results. When the anti-oxidative biomarkers (TAS, TOS, OSI) were examined, positive effects of Legalon and A. schoenoprasum were observed to improve the changing oxidant / antioxidant balance status due to CCL4 induced oxidative stress. The results showed that A. schoenoprasum was a dose-dependent liver-protective effect against CCL4-induced liver toxicity and may be due to antioxidant activity.
